va·gar (n., Portuguese) — unhurried time; the luxury of no hurry.
Unhurried
is a place.
A private house in the green folds of Portugal's Silver Coast — pool, pergola and birdsong, entirely to yourselves. No hosts, no hurry, no one at the door.
The spaces
Wander room to room. Slowly.
Inside & out
Seen, not staged.
Every photograph was taken here on an ordinary day — the light, the tiles, the hydrangeas, exactly as you'll find them.
A day, com vagar
Nothing happens here.
That's the point.
Early
Coffee before the heat
The garden is still cool and the mist is lifting off the hills. Take the first coffee to the pergola and let the birds do the talking.
Midday
The pool, on repeat
Swim, read, doze, repeat. The loungers move with the shade and nobody is counting laps — or hours.
Golden hour
Dinner under the vines
The lanterns come on, something slow is cooking, and the tiles hold the day's warmth long after the sun lets go.
Late
Stove, stars, silence
The stove ticks, the sky fills with stars the city never shows you, and sleep arrives without being asked.

“We understood the name by the second morning. Nobody knocked, nothing beeped, and the pool was ours from breakfast to the stars. The quietest week we've had in years.”
